How can Innovation in Convergent Biotech/Medtech Products be Harnessed to Improve Healthcare Outcomes?

The convergence of biotechnology and medical engineering is resulting in exciting biomedical technology solutions for healthcare applications. In addition to innovation in technology development and regulation, these products also require a new way of thinking from healthcare service providers and payers. The rules and criteria used for the adoption of new drugs and devices are not always compatible with products based on novel convergent technologies, leading to potential delays in their widespread use in healthcare.

The multidisciplinary panel, which includes biotech, medical device, clinical and healthcare payer representatives, will discuss the opportunities presented by these technologies and debate the questions surrounding their adoption in clinical practice.
