Cambridge, 24 April 2008

Professor Sir Chris Evans will be joining the expert line-up at this year’s ERBI 10th Anniversary BioPartnering Exchange, May 7-9. Sir Christopher is regarded as one of Europe’s leading biotechnology entrepreneurs. He has a proven track record of establishing successful, high- quality science companies. Twenty of these have been taken public including Chiroscience, prior to merging with Celltech and then subsequent merger with UCB. He is also responsible for floating other leading UK companies such as Celsis, Ark Therapeutics, Vectura and Neuropharm plc.

At the ERBI BioPartnering Exchange he joins speakers from companies such as MedImmune, Pfizer, GSK, Genentech and GE Heathcare Life Sciences. Chris will be presenting on May 7th and will discuss his personal views on the last ten years of the biotechnology and life-science sector and where he sees the sector going in the next ten.

Jeff Solomon, ERBI CEO comments. “We are delighted to welcome Chris to this year’s event. He offers a unique perspective having been involved with several of the leading biotech players over the last ten years, and adds to our fantastic line-up of industry experts.”

The conference has already hit a record number of registered delegates from pharmaceutical, biotechnology and investor backgrounds. ERBI are also on target to break new boundaries with the number of ‘one to one’ business meetings arranged via online partnering.

About ERBI

ERBI is Europe's leading regional biotechnology industry group. Established in 1997, today we are a self-financing, non-governmental, membership-based company. Although most of our 430 members come from all walks of the bio-pharma and med-tech community in Cambridge and the wider East of England, today we have a significant number of members from other countries and regions. Our membership ranges from multi-nationals like GSK and MSD, to venture-backed start-ups.

Our primary aim is to help our members enhance their global competitiveness. All of our activities are underpinned by networking - bringing together groups of like-minded people to share best practice, experiences, contacts and knowledge.

Over the last 10 years we have earned a reputation for delivering support that makes a positive contribution to our member companies in the key areas of purchasing, facilities management, health and safety, security, IT, finance, corporate governance, training, HR and business development.
